Brothers Adam and Jordan Breen Wheeler are ready to share one of the biggest experiences of their lives next week.

Both have been selected to represent Fermanagh Milk Cup teams in the international youth football tournament.

Seventeen year old Adam has been playing with Ballinamallard Youth in recent years, turning out in the Mid Ulster under-18 league and the IFA Youth League while younger brother Jordan is with Enniskillen Town Youth in the Brendan Keogh Youth League.

Adam, playing in his second Milk Cup, says it is a big week for the whole family.

“It great that the two of us have been chosen to represent our county. I know it is a lot of hard work, but it is really worth it when you get to the competition.

“I’m really lookiing forward to it, playing the continental teams who will give us a completely different challenge than the teams at home.”

“I enjoyed the competition two years ago, but wanted more game time. Hopefully this time round it will come and I can repay with good performances.”

He has scored five goals in the build-up to the competition and is confident he can get on the scoresheet next week.
“It’s good to see my little brother making it too. We’re very proud of him. We probably won’t see much of each other during the week because of our preparation for the games, but I think he will do well. It will be a real experience for the both of us and I just hope he enjoys it as much as myself.”

Fourteen year old Jordan has been looking forward to this for months.

“I’ve loved the build-up and the training and coaching and I’ve been learning more and more about the game every week,” he said.

He has notched two goals in the run up to the competition and wants desperately to score in the Milk Cup proper.
“It would be great to defeat the Japan national side and maybe score one on the way and maybe even lift some sort of a trophy,” he said.

The two head for the North Coast on Sunday with their respective squads for the competition which kicks off on Monday.
