Where will Nellie plop? You decide…and take her home

Where will Nellie plop? You decide!

Where will Nellie plop? You decide!

‘Legs to die for, see her stride, where she plops, you’ll decide’.

That is the name of the game on Bank Holiday, May 6 as Fermanagh Ladies GAA host a ‘Cow Pat’ competition to raise vital funds. The object of the competition is simple: Nellie, a pedigree Limousin heifer, purchased from distinguished local breeder, Enda Corrigan will ‘plop’ and it is your job to decide in what square of the Lissan GAA pitch she does.
She could be yours and all for just a tenner!

Anna McKenna, Chairman of Kinawley ladies who is part of the organising committee explained  why the club had chosen such an unorthodox style of fundraiser this year.

“We decided to go for something bigger, and were hoping to raise as much money as possible. We have done smaller events in the past, but we thought this was something different and would give it a go.”

She explained that the money was for the general running of Fermanagh ladies and the whole expense in the county and broader county team.

Following on from the cow pat competition held in Kinawley last year, as part of their festival, Anna hopes to attract a great number of people from across the county.

“It’s a bit different and we are hoping for more of a spread of the people because of this. The farmers, the men, we hope to bring them out, as it’s usually the women who are at these fundraisers. One of the main things though is that it’s just a bit of fun.”

She is also hoping for a big representation from all the clubs in Fermanagh.

To be in with a chance of winning Nellie or the £1,000 cash alternative, all you have to do is call into any of the local ladies football clubs where tickets are on sale.

Alternatively, you can contact Martin on 07765593604 or Josie on 07921763656. Tickets are £10 for one square of the pitch.

The draw or ‘plop’ will take place at 2pm on May 6 on Lissan GAA grounds.
