Update: Woman named after Kinawley house fire death

Fire services were called to a bungalow in the Kinawley area

A 54-year-old woman has died after a house fire in Kinawley. The woman has been named as Kathleen Owens

At around 11.30am on Sunday morning police were called to a bungalow on the Kinawley to Killesher Road.

Police confirmed that a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course but police are not treating the fire as suspicious at this time.

Yesterday Sinn Fein Erne West Councillor Barry Doherty expressed his sadness at the news of a tragic death in his home village of Kinawley

Councillor Doherty said,

” I heard the sad news of this tragic death earlier today, the family whom I know, are very well thought of and respected in Kinawley and I hope they take some comfort from the support of their friends and community as they attempt to come to terms with the tragedy that has come their way.

“My thoughts and the whole communities thoughts are with them.”
