A LARGE crowd recently turned out to ‘Frank’s Bar’ in Lisnaskea for a special homecoming celebration to honour the achievements of the county’s first ‘Glór Tíre’ winner Patrick Treacy.
The Donagh man wrote his name into the history books when he was named as the winner of the hugely popular TG4 talent show, with fellow Fermanagh man Conor Owens reaching the final.
Treacy, a former Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann champion and a talented local singer, wowed the audiences with performances of his hit songs, ‘Charlie’s Bar’ and ‘The Long Way Home’.
The 22-year-old, who is now recognised as one of the top rising stars in the local Country music scene, said he has “no words to describe my feelings” after he claimed the ‘Glór Tíre’ title.
“It’s absolutely outrageous. It’s a dream come true. I never thought this would happen, but we got here eventually and thank God the title is coming to Fermanagh for the first time,” Treacy said.
