PEOPLE in Fermanagh and Tyrone are expected to take part in a 23-mile walk from Trillick to Roslea next week to raise money and remember the life of the “very special” Martina McMahon.
An outpouring of grief was expressed across the county’s last year when mother-of-two Ms McMahon, who was a stalwart of local GAA clubs, passed away following a battle with illness.
Formerly from Trillick, Ms McMahon was a respected and dedicated member of the Roslea Shamrocks GAA club, heading up and taking part in a range of important club initiatives.
A large crowd is expected to walk from Trillick St Macartan’s GAA club to Roslea Shamrocks GAA club on Saturday, May 17, with participants remembering and celebrating Ms McMahon’s life.
“We hope to see as many out as possible to remember a very special woman,” a post read.
“It will be split into five legs of approximately four to five miles each with exact start and finish points to be confirmed in the coming days.
“We would love to see as many people as possible on the last part of the walk which will take place from her home on Eshnadarragh Rd to the complex with timings updated on the day.”
All proceeds raised from the event will go towards the ‘Friends of the Cancer Centre’ charity.
