A LEADING local business said their recent award win is “well-deserved recognition of our people and the values” as they continue to lead the way in the industry and go from strength to strength.

Encirc was one of the big winners at the ‘2020 Belfast Telegraph Business Awards’,

claiming the prestigious ‘Large Business of the Year’ and the ‘Outstanding Business of the Year’ accolades.

Managing Director at Encirc, Sean Murphy, said he was honoured to pick up the two awards.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work, innovation, and dedication of our entire team.

“We’ve placed a huge focus on investing in our people, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and creating a great place to work for all our employees.

“I believe this has been crucial to our development over the past few years. This is a well-deserved recognition of our people and the values that drive us forward every day,” he added.

The Fermanagh company employs around 2,000 people across its sites in Derrylin, Cheshire and Bristol, with over 500 workers based at its site in the county, in a boost for the local economy.

Encirc plays an important role in supporting the Fermanagh economy and community and they’re committed to improving their sustainability and the role they play in the local environment.

“We’re still heavy users of fossil fuels but we want to change that,” explained Mr Murphy.

“By exploring alternatives such as hydrogen and biomethane, we see a clear future for glass.

“We believe it’s the most sustainable packaging medium in the world and decarbonisation will make it the number one packaging of choice long into the future,” added the Managing Director.
