Cork cancer concert calling for Nathan Carter

COUNTRY music star Nathan Carter is set to take centre stage at the Cork City Hall later this summer for a much-anticipated fundraising event to raise proceeds for a leading cancer charity.

Excitement is building in the locality ahead of a major ‘Concert for Cancer’ which will see Carter perform on Wednesday, July 30, with money raised going towards the Irish Cancer Society.

The Liverpudlian, who has set up home in Fermanagh, has been confirmed as the headline act at the upcoming concert, which is expected to attract hundreds of music fans to the venue in Cork.

It has also been revealed that Clodagh Lawlor, who is recognised widely as one of the top rising Country music stars in the country, will join up with the Fermanagh singer at the fundraising event.

Confirmation of Carter’s upcoming appearance in Cork comes just weeks after he teased that he is going to be producing some new music and tracks, to the delight of his growing fan base.

“Guy’s co-written the album with me and he’s producing it so we’re hoping to get a single out this summer off that album and release the album towards the end of the year,” Carter said.

“It’s a full original album, all brand new music so that’s very exciting. My own stuff is important to me so looking forward to seeing what people think of it.

“I was a bit nervous at the start co-writing with someone who’s had so many big hits through the years but we get on really well and the album’s sounding great.

“I’m absolutely delighted with the way it’s progressing so it’s exciting to be getting some brand new tracks out that I’ve co-written,” added the Liverpudlian singer.

After concluding his hugely popular UK tour, Carter will now turn his attention to major festivals.
