EXCITEMENT is building in the county as members of the Fermanagh Brightstarz group are set to “compete for a chance at stardom” at a much-anticipated show at the Ardhowen Theatre.
A large crowd is expected to turn out to the Enniskillen venue on June 6 and June 7 when members of the Fermanagh-based group showcase their musical talents on the big stage.
“Singers, dancers, magicians, and stars in the making from all walks of life compete for stardom in a talent competition that promises to launch them into the spotlight,” the Ardhowen said.
“But as the competition heats up and the pressure builds, the hopefuls begin to discover that the journey is more meaningful than the destination.
“Insecurities are laid bare, and the sparkle of fame starts to fade next to the warmth of genuine friendship and connection. Through heartbreaks and backstage chaos, the group learns that the real prize isn’t the fame they craved – it’s the family they found in each other,” added the venue.
The Fermanagh Brightstars group was recently awarded ‘The King’s Award for Voluntary Service’ in recognition of their commitment to helping and supporting people in the local community.
“Fermanagh Brightstarz began 10 years ago when Barry Goan, who has Down Syndrome and a passion for performing, wanted to create a space for performing,” a statement from said.
“Since then, the group meet weekly and has been bringing people together, building confidence, and putting on spectacular productions at The Ardhowan Theatre for two nights every June.
“This incredible theatre group was honoured for their dedication to improving the lives of people with a learning disability through artistic inclusion in theatre and the arts.
“This award recognises outstanding groups of volunteers in local communities,” added the group.
