The work is done – now it’s game time for the Ernemen

Twenty-two years ago, Fermanagh manager Dom Corrigan took the senior intercounty team on a foreign holiday the morning after they lost the 2003 National League semi-final to Tyrone. Kieran Donnelly was part of the contingent that travelled for what he still remembers as an “unbelievable experience”.

Those memories, and what the players took from that trip, left an indelible mark on Donnelly and the Brookeborough man felt the current crop of players deserved that experience too;

“I think as a squad these boys deserve it because their commitment level throughout the year is second to none; they give up so much of their time. So, it’s a nice reward for the commitment they give to their county.

“And secondly, it was going to be good preparation for the championship and more contact time together, so we felt it was worth planning into our schedule,” said Donnelly.
