Diva John’s drag show is a massive hit!

Crowds flocked to Enniskillen as Florencecourt native John Hamilton, aka Viva La Diva took to the stage at the Enniskillen Hotel.
Fermanagh geared up for an unforgettable weekend that saw John’s two Diva Drag shows sell out! And, it doesn’t end there, the huge response to the drag show has put wheels in motion to bring Viva La Diva back to Fermanagh in Spring 2020.
Initial fears that Fermanagh was not ready to embrace the drag scene were quashed in dramatic style as the drag queens with feathers and sequins made their mark in Enniskillen.
“We were all overwhelmed by the response. It was a fantastic crowd, warm and homely,” John (pictured below) remarked.
“We walked through the town on Saturday afternoon and people stopped us in the street, saying, what a fantastic show. We were really overcome by the friendless of everybody.”
John had originally planned to come to Fermanagh with the girls to put on a show for his mother and family unable to travel to the UK where he performs regularly in Manchester’s Gay Village.
“To have my mum there was quite emotional. I also had about 50 of my family members there. It’s so hard to get family together these days so it was really quite emotional too.
“There were also people who didn’t know us from Adam but had paid money to come, and the response from them has shown that we have a product here that sells across the UK and Northern Ireland. It crosses all boundaries.”
The burning question for everyone was, if and when the Divas would return.
John confirmed, “Everyone was screaming wondering when we are coming back. We negotiated it and said Spring, possibly around Easter.”
Over the weekend shows fundraisers were held for cancer charities and for the Rainbow Project. With thanks to generous donations almost £1,000 was raised over the two nights.
