Drunk man fell off stolen bike

AN Irvinestown man who was breaching bail by being intoxicated was arrested after stealing a child’s bike.
Patrick James John McDonagh (32) of Sally’s Wood, Irvinestown appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Wednesday as an overnight case for a breach of bail.
Police received a report from a woman who claimed that McDonagh had stole her son’s bike and rode off on it. When police located and spoke with McDonagh, they noticed a smell of liquor and his speech was slurred.
A police check was carried out, and they found that McDonagh was breaching his bail as he was intoxicated. McDonagh returned a breathalyser test result of 110 micrograms.
The court heard that the bike was recovered and the chain had come off it, and the police officer said it was thought that McDonagh had fallen off the bike.
Remitting McDonagh to bail, District Judge Mark McGarrity put McDonagh under curfew meaning he must return home each evening on or before 7.30pm and does not leave home in the morning before 7am. He also must present himself at the door during those hours if required to do so by police. McDonagh is also prohibited from being intoxicated in a public place.
Judge McGarrity adjourned the case until August 21st.
