Deane Public Works 

Deane Public Works Ltd is a successful family run Civil engineering business with over 52 years’ experience in the Construction Industry. The Company founded by George and his wife Liz Deane in 1967 has grown significantly from humble beginnings and evolved into a multi-disciplined business successfully delivering a diverse range of high-profile Civil Engineering contracts and property developments.

Family is at the heart of the business with three generations of the Deane’s now working for the Company including many of George and Liz’s extended family and grandchildren joining the firm in recent years. Georges son Stephen Deane and his wife Janet have worked for the company for over 25 years and now look forward to taking the Company into the future, building on the previous successes.

 

 


 

Montgomery Finlay & Co

Established in 1976, estate agent Montgomery Finlay & Co deal with residential and commercial letting and sales. They also cater for farmland, new developments, building sites, mortgages and valuations.

The business has five directors and one administer. Among senior directors are Harry, Ronnie and Terry who are passing invaluable information to new generations. Most recently Terry’s son Nick joined the firm. Ronnie’s son is hoping to join the business in the future. Jane McChesney, niece of Harold is also working for the firm. 

 


 

Surefire Wood

Run by Sinclair Armstrong, nine family members are involved in the family business Surefire Wood which provides kiln-dried firewood. A lot of their firewood comes from CPC and the forestry service. The business employs 30 people in total and Sinclair has over 25 years experience supplying UK and Irish supermarkets and domestic customers.

The company is focused on providing an environmentally friendly product, sourcing local sustainable wood while using wood bi-products to heat its kilns and produce a totally renewable product.
