Accused of horror rape at knifepoint

AN ENNISKILLEN man has been accused of the horrific rape of a woman at knifepoint in the town.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jason Magerr (pictured right) from Hillview Park in the town appeared before the local magistrate’s court on Monday charged with rape, grievous bodily harm and having a knife.
The accused, who was dressed in grey custody issue ‘sweats’, was remanded in custody on the charges which relate to the alleged attack on a woman during the summer.
Along with the sexual offence, Jason Magerr from Hillview Park, Enniskillen is accused of two counts of unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on the woman, and threatening to kill her.
It is also alleged he brandished an offensive weapon, namely a knife with, intent to commit the offence of rape. All matters are alleged to have occurred on July 31.
A detective constable told Enniskillen Magistrates Court all charges could be connected. In response to enquiry from the defence, the detective confirmed during interview, Magerr denied the “primary offence” (rape).
The defence then advised the court that his client denied all charges. There was no application for bail and District Judge Michael Ranahan remanded Magerr remanded in custody to appear again by videolink later this month.
