Away qualifier draw for Fermanagh

Eoin Donnelly and Aaron Findon tangle during last year’s league meeting between Fermanagh and Armagh.

Fermanagh have learned their opposition as they embark on their journey through the qualifiers.

This morning’s draw on RTE Radio 1 saw Fermanagh drawn against Armagh. With Kieran McGeeney’s men first out of the drum Fermanagh will return to the Athletic Grounds for the third time in three years.

The sides drew 1-10 apiece in 2015 when both sides earned promotion from division 2. In 2016 Armagh emerged the victors, but only after a ferocious battle with a dramatic stoppage time point from Stefan Campbell required to give the hosts a 1-10 to 0-12 win.

The faltering nature of Armagh’s performance against Down in their Ulster quarter-final on Sunday will also give Pete McGrath’s men optimism that they can pull of a memorable victory.

The game will be played the weekend of Saturday 24th / Sunday 25th June with fixture details expected to be confirmed later today.

The full qualifier draw is as follows.

Round 1B
Armagh v Fermanagh
Westmeath/Offaly v Cavan/Monaghan
Limerick v Wexford
London v Carlow

Round 1A
Games to take place on Saturday, June 17
Waterford v Derry
Louth v Longford
Wicklow v Laois
Sligo v Antrim
