Emma Johnston

Emma is one of the longest registered members of Lakeland Special Olympics Club. She is truly a remarkable young woman who is best described as “one of the unsung heroes” in every sense of the word. She attends club activities on a regular basis and is a real source of inspiration and support for all other members. She is a firm favourite with all coaches, volunteers and particularly the athletes who really appreciate and enjoy her company. Her friendly positive participation in the training sessions allows for a real sense of inclusiveness and fun filled atmosphere.


James Scott

Known as “Scotty” to all his fellow athletes, coaches and volunteers at Lakeland Special Olympics Club. His infectious smile would light up any room, event or environment . Has been a valued member of the club for the past seven years and over that period has made fantastic progress in developing his football skills and ability and regularly represents the club in various competitions. Such progress was recognised at the highest level as he was selected as a member of the Irish Football Association Cerebral Palsy team. He likes a bit of banter and is always keen to introduce good humour into the conversation and is a “real character” in the best sense of the word.


Keith Morrow

Keith joined Lakeland Special Olympics Club shortly after it`s inception over ten years ago. He attends the football training sessions on a regular basis and is always keen to join in the full range of club activities. Irrespective of the weather conditions Keith is virtually the first member to arrive and the last member to leave. He enjoys joining in and assisting the coaches and volunteers in setting up the various activities. Keith always has a big smile which is infectious and possesses a genuine warmth and friendly demeanour when interacting with other people. He really enjoys the interaction and social inclusion aspect of the club and is the embodiment of everything that is good and positive about Lakeland Special Olympics Club.
