PREPARATIONS have begun for Lisnaskea’s 44th Annual John James McDermott Feis and the organisers are seeking a dance school who would like to be involved.

This year the Feis will not have a dance section, unless a dance school is willing to help out.
Feis committee member, Kathleen Breen has urged any dance school, who would be willing to help to get in touch.

“We had our AGM last week, and we have some new committee members and volunteers. We have had a very successful couple of years, the only problem is that we have lost the dance school, because our dancing teacher has left us. We really need someone with the expertise and we would accommodate any of the dancing schools who would like to get involved.

The Feis was started as a Dancing Feis by Margaret Kelly, who has since passed away, so we would love to have the dancing this year again.”

The Feis which has been divided into two weekends will take place over two days in October, and one day in November. On October 15th, Irish Conversation and Poetry will take place at the primary school from 9.30am until noon.

While on Sunday 16th, Verse Speaking will take place at 9.30am for children up to P3, while P4 to P7 will begin at 1.30pm. Drama, Monologues and Dialogues will take place after the verse speaking, starting at 3.30pm.

Entries for handwriting, poetry and art must be submitted by 4pm on Thursday, October 13th .
Later in the year, the music section for groups, bands, ballads, solos, duets and trios will take place on Saturday, November 19th at 10am.

Full details and entry forms are in Feis Programme, contact Feis Secretary, Mrs R. Breen, on 02867721448 or email lisnaskeafeis@gmail.com.
