The Ulster Minor Schools Swim Championships for Age Group 4 and 5 began  in the Seven Towers Leisure Centre in Ballymena. 
 
Representing Mount Lourdes Grammar School in Age Group 4 – 12 years and under, for the first time was Caragh Leonard (11). Caragh who is a first year student did her school proud coming home with 2 golds medals and 2 Ulster Schools titles. 
 
The last time this was achieved by a Mount Lourdes Student in the Ulster Minor Championships was in 2009 by Caragh’s older sister Alannah.
 
Caragh who swims with Sliabh Beagh Swimming Club in Monaghan swam in the 50m Breaststroke and the fiercely competitive 50m Freestyle. 
 
First up was the 50m Breaststroke in which Caragh claimed the gold in a fabulous time of 39.07. 
 
Caragh then reclaimed her 50m Freestyle Ulster Schools title with a fantastic time of 30.13. Caragh now looks forward to the Swim Ulster Schools Cup & Championships in 2 weeks’ time in the Aurora Complex in Bangor.
