WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE… The phone box near Killesher cross

While the traditional phone box is increasingly a thing of the past – there are still a few dotted around the county.

This one snapped last week could do with a bit of tidying up.

The photo was taken near Killesher cross on the Swanlinbar road.

But despite weeds and overgrowth – the phone box is still working according to Boho publican Dessie McKenzie.

“I was running low on battery on my mobile and tried to make a call from it,” he told the Fermanagh Herald, “and it was working!”

“There are full 4G bars near the box. But only 2% battery. It was the first time I had used a telephone box in about two years.”

Despite his 2% battery, Dessie still managed to get a photo for us.
