Lisnaskea’s beardy boys lose their whiskers!

Shave

LAST Saturday night’s sponsored beard shave, held in the Donn Carragh Hotel, Lisnaskea, proved a big hit, with the proceeds shared between Action Cancer’s ‘Gro Mo’ Fund for prostate cancer and Share Discovery Village.

The event was arranged through Barber Barber, the popular men’s hairdressing salon in main street.

On the night, between 20-30 bearded men turned up for the big shave off, among them Jarlath Rice and Martin Gallagher, from the Share Centre, and Johnny McBrien, local newsagent.

Mr McBrien explained to the Herald that he started letting his beard grow at the start of November, and he was happy with the outcome.

“It was a bit of craic, and what brought the house down were the big beards coming off, Jarlath, Martin and Tommy Swift.

They had been growing theirs from the start of the year, and Martin even went a step further.

“Having got his beard shaved, he went the whole hog and got all his hair off.”

Readers can still donate sponsorship to Fran in Barber Barber in main street.
