The pupils from the sensory rooms at the school received an invitation from the Replay Theatre from Belfast to join them on an adventure – a trip to space.

This trip was a multi-sensory performance which actively involved the children/ young people in the experience.

They sat in custom made rocket pods and took off in a huge dome shaped spaceship for an experience which totally immersed them in the story.

The pupils had a fantastic day in the Lakeland Forum on Thursday where they got to see representatives from different planets who wanted to know who were the most important people in the solar system.

The cast all wore fantastic space themed costumes, used coloured and white lights, puffs of smoke, crackling skin cream, and had visual effects of stars and planets to bring the space experience to life.

They also sang and danced their way through the story. All in all it was a memorable visit to space for those at Willowbridge.
