FLOODLIGHT cards are now available for the multi-use games areas (MUGAs) in the county.

As the evenings get darker, users of the areas have been advised that they can buy flashcards for six of the sites.

To date Fermanagh District Council has developed MUGA facilities at 11 locations with floodlighting facilities having been installed at Belcoo, Ederney, Garrison, Kesh, Lisbellaw and Newtownbutler.

The floodlighting is operated using a card, which is inserted into the meter box at the MUGA.

The cards cost £5 and will provide lighting for 70 minutes. Full lighting is provided for the first 60 minutes followed by half lighting for the remaining ten minutes.

The half lighting will allow users to leave the MUGA safely.

There are two sides to the card, with each side activating the lights for 35 minutes.

If the user requires the full 70 minutes of lighting, then both sides of the card should be inserted, one side after the other.

The floodlighting cards are now on sale from the following council buildings: The Townhall, Enniskillen; The Fermanagh Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen; The Bawnacre Leisure Centre, Irvinestown and Castle Park Leisure Centre, Lisnaskea.

Alternatively the cards can be purchased online from the council’s website at: www.fermanagh.gov.uk/mugalighting. In the coming weeks, the council is aiming to have the cards on sale at local businesses in the locality of the MUGAs. Signs indicating the sale of floodlighting cards will be displayed clearly by participating businesses.

If you are a local business and would like to get involved with the sale of the cards in your area, or if you would like to find out more about the MUGAs, please contact Chris Elliott at Fermanagh District Council on 028 6632 5050 or by email at chris.elliott@fermanagh.gov.uk
