KEEP HER COUNTRY… Declan Nerney

COUNTRY SINGER Declan Nerney is to perform in the Derrygonnelly Community Centre next week.

The musician, from County Longford, is a household name with country fans here.

Declan and his band appear on Friday November 14, with dancing from 10pm to 1.30pm.

He said recently: “Fermanagh people are very nice and a great audience. They can expect all of my hit songs from over the years.”

His most recent album ‘Nerney’s Gold’ includes hits spanning over the past quarter of a century – and the musician is in the process of doing a new DVD, commenting: ‘We went the extra mile and made it something extra special’.

Backing Declan is Jerome McBride on bass, Martin O’Connor on drums, Willie Dunne on keyboard, Ambrose McDermott and Robert Hunt on saxophone.

The celebrity chef is helping raise funds for vital church repairs in the Fermanagh parish.

The last time he played the Ardhowen Theatre in Enniskillen, Declan Nerney sold out the theatre.

Shaun Loughrey and his band, the Countrysiders are bringing their show to Derrygonnelly Community Centre on Friday, March 21.
