THE PUBLIC is invited to enjoy a unique experience on September 27, at the ‘opening ceremony’ of the Fermanagh Live (FLive) festival.

The Dragon Parade is a day of fun activities from 1.30pm starting at the gates of Enniskillen. Local dragon ‘Falkner’ will be accompanied by an array of fantastical creatures, created by local school children under the guidance of local artist Genevieve Murphy.

Follow them and the samba band as they weave their way through the town as far as the Diamond and then back to the Dragon’s Lair at Enniskillen Castle.

The free event includes art workshops, face-painting, archery, traditional swing boats and live music.

Tying in with the dragon parade, a week previous, Saturday 20, sees the Circus school role into town. ‘In Your Space’ circus school from Derry teaches skills and circus training in a fun and friendly environment. The 90 minute session are facilitated by two fully trained, vetted and insured facilitators with all equipment provided. Young people will be given the chance to try their hand at juggling, poi spinning, diablo, plate spinning, hula hooping, stilt walking, and uni-cycling – among others.

The event is suitable for 8 – 11 year olds, and takes place in The Devenish Room of the Lakeland Forum.

For tickets, contact the Ardhowen Theatre – and the skills learned at this can be used in the dragon parade.
