35th anniversary vintage car club charity parade

THIS Friday, August 15, the Erne Vintage car club will hold its annual charity parade.

This will be the 35th anniversary charity parade and as usual the vehicles will leave the Railway Car park at 7.30pm.

This year’s parade will include marching bands, vintage and classic cars, tractors, lorries, motor bikes and any other vintage modes of transport.

Also included in the parade will be steam engines large and small along with a vintage fire engine.

There will be entertainment in the Diamond area with live music throughout the afternoon and from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. And Scottish and Irish dancers will perform opposite the Railway Hotel from 6.30pm.

This year’s chosen charity for the parade is Horizon West Children’s Hospice, Killadeas.

Police are advising motorists that congestion is expected in the Enniskillen on Friday, August 15, with the town centre closing at 6.30pm and reopening at 10pm due to the Annual Erne Vintage Club parade of vintage vehicles and bands.

Belfast traffic travelling to  Donegal and Belleek, were possible, should use Wellington Road. A local diversion will be in place. The parade will be contained within the loop of town centre and Queen Elizabeth Road and Forthill Street area.

On Saturday, August 16, the Erne Vintage Car Club hold their annual outing with 100 plus vintage and classic cars departing from the Killyhevlin Hotel at 11am and travelling via Carrybridge  and Lisnaskea to Aghavea Parish hall (near Brookeborough) for lunch.

After lunch the parade will continue to the Tea Room at Crom Estate for afternoon tea before the party return to the Killyhevlin Hotel for their annual dinner and dance.

On Sunday morning, August  17, the cars will leave the Killyhevlin Hotel at 11am and visit Enniskillen Museums before travelling on to Castle Hume Golf Club for Sunday lunch to round off the weekend outing.
