KINAWLEY… Jim Devine

TYRONE country singer Jim Devine is to appear in Kinawley Community Centre this weekend for what promises to be a superb night of music in the village.

Jim was previously a finalist of The Voice of Ireland, under Westlife’s Kian Egan in 2012, and released his debut album around six weeks ago, ‘Devine Country’ which included ‘Leighann Loves To Dance’, ‘Baby Baby’, ‘Saw You Running’, and ‘Blink Of An Eye’.

His current single is called ‘Ireland’s Turning Country’.

“We’ve haven’t played in Fermanagh – it’ll be our first gig – but we’re very excited,” Jim told the Fermanagh Herald, “I know there’s a very strong country scene and you often hear about bands having launch nights in the area. It’ll be a great night.”

Jim is backed by a five piece band.

“I released my debut album about six weeks ago and it got to number two in the iTunes country charts which we were delighted with,

“We’ve been playing three or four nights a week. We’re hitting the jive market but there’s a mix in there for everybody we’ll start with a band and then take it easy for a few songs.

“You learn what a crowd wants very quickly, so we’ve got a strict setlist that we stick to that appeals to the dancing market.”

There is a country disco fom 10pm – 11.30pm with dancing from 11.30pm – 1.30am on Friday June 20. Tickets are £12 or €15.
