Gemma Beggan, Emma Crooks, Abbie Parkinson, Laura Doonan and Aisling Maguire prepare for the upcoming performance

SOUTH WEST COLLEGE and Fermanagh Learning Community performing arts students production company Chasing Rabbits are putting the final touches in place for their tea party and are inviting all to attend.

‘Chasing Rabbits’ is an AS-Level Performing Arts student group from Collegiate Grammar School, Erne Integrated College, Mount Lourdes Grammar School, Devenish College and St Fanchea’s College

Based on Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic Alice in Wonderland, ‘Alice’ is a darker interpretation of the story and tells the story of a young girl with a vivid imagination and a family life that is less than perfect.

It breathes fresh life into a much-loved story about Rabbit holes, pocket watches and talking caterpillars.

Laura Doonan who is taking on the lead role of ‘Alice’ said: “This production is very exciting with a lot going on, it truly is a brilliant take on a classic story. The play really appealed to the group as it touches on a number of issues which are important to young people today, such as mental health.”

Tracey Kernaghan who is overseeing the production feels that it is quite an exciting production and should not be missed by anyone who enjoys the original version: “Alice promises for an enjoyable viewing.

“The characters in this production are much more colourful and exciting than you first may think and it really is an interesting take on the original version.”

‘Alice’ is being shown at the Ardhowen Theatre on the April 8 2014 at 20:00. To buy tickets for this ‘not to be missed’ production, you can do so at the Ardhowen Theatre box office or on the Ardhowen Theatre website. Tickets are £10 for adults and £9 Concession.
