It’s a big week for Premier League side  Ballinamallard United.

Friday night is the big one with bottom placed Ards and Ballinamallard will want to make sure they keep ahead of second from bottom Warrenpoint.

Manager Whitey Anderson knows how important these final games are in the race for survival and says victory at Clandyboye Park would be great for his side.

“All four teams down there are fighting for their lives. Nobody is going to lie down, but we have a real belief that we can really do something.

“We know it is going to be tough, but the boys have a little bit of confidence back after our win  over Coleraine and draw against Dungannon Swifts,” said Anderson.

“We’re going up there with a real confidence booster. The final four games are going to be tough and I am hoping we can get something from each game.”

The Ballinamallard players had last weekend off but were back training on Monday and tonight, Wednesday for the important game.

Anderson points out that his boys really took heart from the Coleraine game.

“It wasn’t just the result, but the level of our performance that was good. The playes know themselve that they played well and siince then there has been a great buzz at training and around the club. It makes the whole thing more enjoyable for everybody.”

The players have been working hard on keeping their discipline to keep the opposition from scoring, while playing their own game.

“We’ve had our big players back recently and I think that has helped tremendously,” admitted Anderson.

McCartney and Keohane both played in the Coleraine and Dungannon games which helped the balance of the side, but overall Anderson believes it was the players working so hard that made the difference.

“It’s really about had work and confidence and concentrating on your own game,” he said.

“We created opportunities and took them in the past two weeks and it’s nothing more complicted than that I believe and that’s what we’ll continue doing,” said the Ballinamallard manager.
