Ballinamallard collected a vital three points to bring them within a point of Coleraine when they recorded a 2-1 victory over the Bannsiders.

It was a cracking drive from distance by substitute Richard Lecky which sealed the points for the Mallards on 78 minutes.

It was a superb end to end game at Ferney Park with Coleraine and Ballinamallard serving up a feast of football and good chances.

McDaid went close early on for the visitors and keeper Fergal Murphy blocked Tommons effort.

McCartney created a good chance for the Mallards after eight minutes while McDaid though he should have had a penalty after a clash with Menamin, but was booked for diving.

Eight minutes into the second half and Ballinamallard were ahead. A good combination between McCartney Kee and Crawford saw the in form Ryan Campbell finish well when he shot across goal into the bottom corner.

But on 63 minutes Coleraine were level when Tommins volley from inside the box flew in at the near post.

On 78 minutes the crowd was treated to a super winning goal.

A neat back heel by David Kee opened the path for Lecky to strike from distance with his left foot low and hard into the bottom corner.

In the closing minutes Lowry was red carded for Coleraine for a stamping incident, while David Kee received his second yellow and he too had to go to the changing room.
