STAR… Emmett meets Yaya Toure

ENNISKILLEN STUDENT Emmett Cassidy got the opportunity to meet two Manchester City footballers – and presented midfielder Yaya Toure with a ‘Player of the Month’ award.

Emmett, a student in Manchester and avid City fan, explained how the football club allows fans to vote for their player of the month, with a fan chosen to make the presentation.

The 19-year-old added that when he got the email to say that he had been chosen, out of 5000, he ‘thought they were having me on’.

Emmett, along with three friends, watched the players training in the Etihad before their match, before the presentation.

“It was one of the best experiences of my life,” Emmett explained.

“After watching the training we went down to the room were the presentation was held and I got to interview Yaya Toure, present him with his award and he signed a few of my shirts.

“We saw all the players train but the only people we got to talk to was Yaya Toure and Kolarov, who is probably my favourite player so I was delighted to meet him and get his autograph.”

And, the trip has left Emmett looking ahead to a ‘tight’ finish for the side.

“I hope we can win the league but I know it’s going to be really tight. If we don’t win the league after being in four competitions up until March, I would be disappointed.”
