VOICE… Craig McMorrow

LOCAL interest in ‘The Voice of Ireland’ remains as Rossinver musician Craig McMorrow has ‘battled’ his way through to the live shows.

After making it through the original ‘blind’ auditions becoming a member of ‘Team Kian’ (Kian Egan, formerly of Westlife) Craig made it through to the ‘Battle’ stages of the competition defeating Christopher Stoodley to advance through to the live shows.

“The whole experience so far has been truly amazing,” explained Craig. “It’s something I never thought I would be doing. I guess it pays to put yourself out there. The battle was intense I knew my battle partner for the past 12 months and this made it hard to fight for a place, but there has to be a winner and I’m so happy that’s me. So thankfully I’m the person going through to the live shows. I sang apologise by One Republic. It’s a tricky song that needed lots of vocal range but I was very happy with the way I sang it.”

Craig will next appear on the RTE show on March 23 for the live shows and he admitted that he cannot contain his excitement.

“It’s really amazing to think I’ll be going out sing live to about 800000 people, it is insane but I can’t wait.”

He continued:“The support I have been receiving from everybody all over the world has been amazing. I have got lovely messages from Australia, USA, UK, Germany and not to mention what I have been getting in Ireland.”

Regardless of the outcome of the live show Craig is in no doubt where his future lies.

“After this whole journey I know music is what I want to do. Nothing will stop me now.”

Craig will appear on ‘The Voice’ on Sunday March 23 on Rte One at 6.30pm and he requires your votes to send him through to the final stages.

“It’s now more then ever I need the support. I need everyone’s votes.”
