FERMANAGH’S only professional Dance Theatre company has been given a significant endorsement from The Arts Council Of Northern Ireland in the form of an Annual Funding Award of £54,386.
Dylan Quinn Dance Theatre is the first dance company outside Belfast or Derry to have been awarded such annual support.
This funding will enable the company to expand on the work we have achieved locally, nationally and internationally and provide us with the capacity to grow even further.
DQDT is committed to creating work of quality for a rural location whist also providing access to dance for people living in rural settings, reaching more people and getting more people dancing.
Gilly Campbell, Arts Development Officer for Drama and Dance at the Arts Council, commented, “The Arts Council is pleased to support Dylan Quinn Dance Theatre through the Annual Funding Programme.
“This talented company continues to produce high quality contemporary dance performance, whilst developing and encouraging young talent in a wide range of genres of dance within the Fermanagh area.”
This year Dylan Quinn Dance Theatre will be performing their Beckett-inspired production Fulcrum at The MAC in Belfast on May 21st and 22nd and touring Ireland culminating in a performance at The Firkin Crane in Cork on the 28th of May.
The ACNI Annual Funding Award will enable DQDT to create and produce an exciting new original professional production for 2015.
