St Michael’s boys have the golden touch

Ruairi Maguire leads clean sweep of senior boys medals for St Michael’s College who won four of the five boys team gold medals in the Ulster ‘E’ District Schools Cross Country Championships at Necarne Estate, Irvinestown.

With Ruairi Maguire first, Lorcan Love, second and Paul Breen third, the  St Michael’s gold medal was completed by Mark McCaffrey in fourth witht eh lowest possible score of 10.

In the mini boys St Michael’s had more success with Oisin McGrath second, James Cox third with Jack Largo  Ellis fourth and Joe McDade fifth to take the first team prize.

In the Mini girls Bronagh Duffy of Mount Lourdes finished second while her school also took the silver team medal.
In the Minor girls Lucia Warnock of St Fanchea’s was fourth while in the Minor boys St Michael’s took third spot led by Sean Vaughan.

In the Junior girls Niamh Fitzpatrick helped Mount Lourdes to bronze with her third place finish and in the Junior boys James Boyle’s fifth position helped his school to take gold.

In the intermediate girls Edel Monaghan won bronze while in the boys race St Michael’s led by Jacob Britton finished fourth in a very close battle with Omagh CBS.

In the senior girls Jayne McCutcheon of Enniskillen Collegiae had a good run to finish fourth.
