Originally from Irvinestown, Mr Robinson lives in Ballinamallard with his wife Sandra and daughter Sophie.
Sandra works for the Department of Agriculture and Sophie is a final year student at the Collegiate Grammar School, Enniskillen. Their son, Trevor, is a lecturer in Queen’s University and lives in Belfast with his wife Joanne and children Jasmine and Lucas.

Henry is the section engineer for Roads Service in Fermanagh where he has worked for over 40 years in various branches.

For the last 20 years he has been section engineer for road maintenance in Fermanagh. During this time he has had to deal with many problems, not least the extensive flood of 2009 which saw many roads under flood for up to a month.

Following that event he led the raising of many of the vulnerable roads funded by the Flooding Task Force. He is also a controller for normal gritting operations in Fermanagh and Tyrone.

He is involved in his local church being a member of the Select Vestry, a member of Clogher Diocesan Council and a member of the General Synod of the Church of Ireland.

He is also a member of the Board of Governors of Portora Royal School where he himself was a pupil and is a member of Enniskillen Rotary Club.

He has a keen interest in local history and is chairman of Ballinamallard Historical Society. In 2002 during Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Ballinamallard he had the pleasure of introducing her to a local history exhibition in the village.

In theory, the High Sheriff is Queen Elizabeth’s judicial representative in the county (as opposed to the Lord-Lieutenant who is the personal representative of the sovereign).

“In practice, the role today is largely ceremonial and runs from January to December,” said Henry.

The High Sheriff has a number of rights and duties. These include receiving any High Court judges, members of the royal family, or heads of state who visit Fermanagh.

Speaking after being appointed as High Sheriff Henry Robinson said, “I was delighted and genuinely honoured to be considered for High Sheriff and look forward to taking on the associated responsibilities in the year ahead and to represent Fermanagh.”
