Action from the Gala
On Sunday the Lakelanders hosted the inaugural Carl O’Reilly memorial Gala.
The gala was attended by by swim clubs from Breifne (Cavan), Riversdale Otters (Strabane) ,Strule Dolphins (Omagh), Marlins (Ballyshannon) and Sligo swim club to celebrate Carls’ lifelong enjoyment of swimming.
With over 150 swimmers swimming in the main events it was a fantastic day with many new personal best times achieved and several swimmers taking home a coveted five medals one from each event.
The highlight of the day for many was the “skins” event which saw many of Carl’s friends and family from all the clubs compete in a fast and furious 50 metre freestyle swim which saw the slowest competitor eliminated every 50 metres.
The eventual winner was Enniskillen club Coach Chelsey Wilson.
