COUNTRY singer Susan McCann is stopping off in Fermanagh this Monday night.

A familiar name in the country music scene – not least because of her involvement in mentoring our own Anthony McBrien during his stint on TG4’s Glor Tire this year – Susan has over 30 years of experience in the industry.

From County Down, the singer’s released her first single in  the 1970s, and her second release ‘Bif Tom is still the King’, took her to number one in the Irish Pop Charts in May 1977 remaining in the Top 20 for 11 weeks.

And her continued success in the country scene was measured through concerts across the world – and numerous CD and DVD releases.

And for Monday’s show, fans new and old can expect a lot of dancing.

“For this show in Enniskillen, it’s a good dance programme,” said Susan.

“I do a lot of lively quick-step stuff. I’d do it a little differently than I would at a concert.”

The event – held in the Enniskillen Hotel – opens at 9.30pm, and starts at 10.30pm.

“I’d be very familiar with Fermanagh,” she continued.

“I used to play in the Fort Lodge years ago on a Sunday night – but I’ve played in lots of places over the years.”

And she also offered her compliments to the plethora of country fans in the county.

“I’ve a radio programme on a Sunday morning, on Q radio, and I would get a lot of listeners from Fermanagh which is great.

“It’s a lovely part of the world – I was on holiday there and went on a boat around the lakes, and it was fabulous.”

Susan last performed in the county at the beginning of the year, but, concluded by saying: “I’m looking forward to getting back.”
