CONCERNS…Gerard Tierney, from near Roslea has been missing since last Thursday

A BODY has been discovered in a slurry pit by teams searching for the missing Gerard Tierney, from near Roslea.

The 40-year-old went missing on Thursday past.

Gerard, who lived at Kilcorran, Smithboro, a short distance from Roslea, has been described as a single man, a farmer and lorry driver, who lived with his widowed father, Frank.

The remains of the body found have been removed for post mortem to Cavan General hospital.

Further tests will take place in order to confirm the identity of the body.
