WHEN police stopped a vehicle near Omagh it emerged that the driver has held a provisional learner’s licence for over 30 years.

Patrick Joseph McCaffrey (61) of Lismalore, Brookeborough in Co Fermanagh was disqualified for six months and fined £20 for driving without L-plates. He was detected on the Tattyreagh Road on May 3.

Sentencing had been adjourned at an earlier court hearing to give McCaffrey a chance to get a full driving licence but he did not pass the theory test.
