The son of Brian and Pam, he was the oldest in the family and is immediately survived by his sisters and brothers, Karen, Brendan, Cahal, Nicola, Joanne and Connor.

Canon Joseph Mullin, parish priest of Lisnaskea, who said the funeral mass said:

“What makes this all the more painful is that the Reilly here in Lisnaskea and the Reilly family in Kinawley have both lost children already and they’re being asked to carry the cross again.

“As parishioners, we have all shared great joy and great pain over many years and this parish stands shoulder to shoulder to show comfort and support for those who are so sorely bereaved.”

He also said: “Life in earlier generations was really a lot simpler. There would not have been the choices available but limitation of choice could mean limitation of risk.

“I think what young people face today we have to admit is that life for them is not easy.”
