Fashion Focus: Looking ahead to next season’s fashion trends

It may seem rather premature to be looking towards next season already however when it comes to fashion time waits for no one and since the summer sales have already began with stores having massive clear outs of their spring summer stock I decided it was about time I started looking towards next season or at least the pre autumn collections and trends that we will begin to see filter into the high street in the coming weeks.

If you haven’t yet been on your summer holidays or if like me you are impatiently waiting for the summer to begin in Fermanagh you can still take the opportunity to get into the sales to pick up bargains for your holidays.

I don’t know if it is just me but the weeks seem to be going in quicker than usual and although I know I have bought one or two bits and pieces for the summer I can’t remember if I have had much of an opportunity to wear any of them partly because the sun always seems to come out when I am busy and I haven’t had a chance to enjoy them and partly because the days are going in far too quickly.

As the sales go on here is what you can expect to find in a store near you in the coming weeks.

Animal Magic

Be prepared to let the zoo into your wardrobe this autumn with every type of animal print from Zebra to giraffe making an appearance next season.

Animals of all shapes and sizes proved to be a source of inspiration for many designers.

Although animal print is no new thing there is a new way to wear it; animal print sweatshirts, trench coats and leisurewear.

Mid length skirts the new way

It may be an old fashioned style of skirt but there is certainly nothing prim and old fashioned about the new look midi skirt. Whether punked up in leather, funked up with a modern print or given a completely new twist with a new loose a-line version; the new midi skirt is a new wardrobe must have.

Leather on leather

Forget double denim, double leather is a much sexier look for the autumn. For a more demure lady like version look to Bottega Veneta, who teamed billowing leather skirts with cute shirts. For a more traditional vampy look take inspiration from Givenchy.

True Blue

Forget dull autumnal shades and boring blacks this autumn’s go to colour is blue. For ultimate impact why not mix it up by teaming baby blue with royal blue and mix in a bit of electric blue.
This season the word on the street is that you can never have enough blue!
