Derry lit up over the weekend as Radio 1’s Big Weekend rolled into town.

And, a healthy Fermanagh contingent made up the attendance including Enniskillen man Brogan McIntyre – and Boho girl Nicola Gilleece.

Taking place from Friday until Sunday, the event attracted around 40,000 and headline acts included The Script, Bruno Mars and Biffy Clyro.

Brogan travelled up with a group of friends.“I went up for the Friday and the Sunday,” he explained.

“On the Friday there was a group of about six of us and then on the Sunday I only went up with a friend, Matthew.”

“I thought it was absolutely amazing, not one part of it disappointing in any way. All of the bands I went to see were Unreal with 30 Seconds to Mars and Chase and Status being my personal favourite acts.

He added: “The best moment by far though was when The Script brought Labrinth on to perform Earthquake and Hall of Fame together.”

Similarly, Nicola Gilleece, from Boho, was their on Friday night.

“I went on the Friday with some friends,” she said.

“It was one of my best days out in a long time, it was unreal and such a good start to the summer!”

She cited her highlights as Calvin Harris, Rudimental and Danny Howard.
