OUTGOING…Desi Quinn

Ballinamallard United chairman Desi Quinn is to step down at the club’s annual general meeting tomorrow night, Wednesday.

Quinn will take a well-deserved break after four years which has seen the Ferney Park club rise to one of the 12 senior clubs in Northern Ireland.

Ballinamallard United manager Whitey Anderson, speaking from holiday in Spain, was full of praise for the outgoing Chairman with whom he has had an excellent relationship:

“The development of Ballinamallard United Football Club under the vision and leadership of Desi Quinn has been phenomenal. It is 10 years this month since the club won its first Irish League title, the old Second Division.

“After Gerry Byers guided us through the development of the changing rooms facilities Desi took us to a new level in continuing the development of the club infrastructure whilst at the same time facilitating me in building a squad which would be competitive on the pitch and ultimately take us to the Premiership.”
