BACK IN BUSINESS…The Carlton Hotel will soon be reopened

THE CARLTON Hotel in Belleek will soon be back open for business.

Back in January, the hotel ceased trading and went into administration, and this week the joint administrators, John J Cavanagh and Gerard Gildernew confirmed the sale.

A spokesman said that the administrators and Ulster Bank worked closely with commercial property consultants Osborne King to ‘to negotiate with all interested parties in respect of the sale of the Hotel and continued to run the hotel as a going concern for six months after it was placed in administration, ensuring all 2012 wedding commitments went ahead’.

Commenting on the sale Gerard Gildernew said: “We are delighted that this landmark Hotel in the village of Belleek is now in new ownership and will not only create employment opportunities in the area but also help  leverage the economic growth of the village”.

It is understood that the new owners have extensive experience and expertise in the hospitality industry across Ireland and are planning an impressive refurbishment of the property and aim for it to be ready in time for the G8 summit in June.

Final details will be announced by the new owners once they have completed discussions with former employees and the administrators.
