FERMANAGH Hurlers defeated Monaghan to grab a crucial victory at Brewster Park and ensure their survival in National Division III.

The defeat leaves Monaghan facing a relegation playoff against Tyrone in two weeks time .

Despite being reduced to 14 players when Karl Kehoe was sent off Fermanagh held out for victory.

Fermanagh led by 1 06 to 0 04 at half time, the goal coming from a John Duffy free in the 13th minute.

Monaghan came stronger in the second half but couldn’t find many openings in a solid Fermanagh defence, in which Eoin Morrissey had an outstanding game.
