Fourth place Ballinamallard United travel to Donegal Celtic on Saturday looking to further strengthen their hold on fourth place in the Premiership.

Assistant manager Brian Khan thinks Monday night’s performance against Derry City will give the Mallard boys great confidence travelling to Suffolk Park.

“The players had a really good workout on Monday night are know how important Saturday’s fixture is. Of the remaining fixtures this is an absolutely vital one and one that we really need three points from.

The boys understand the challenge for a top six spot and what it would mean for us all at Ferney Park. We really need three points here if we are serious about a top six position.”

Khan went on, “The last time Donegal Celtic came down to us they made it very difficult and went home with a point. They are fighting now for every ball, so an early break for us is crucial. We’re intent on getting three points, but we have to put in a performance to do that.”

“We certainly have been creating the chances and our finishing has started to improve again.

“We’ve worked hard on that and hope it will pay dividends. Previously we had been guilty of missing good opportunities and paid for it.”

Ballinamallard will be without the suspended James McKenna.

“We were impressed with all we saw on Monday night against Derry City. Many of the young players who came in did really well and showed us that we do have strength in depth,” added Khan.
