Retail boost as Menarys set to open in Enniskillen

The retail market in Enniskillen has received a massive boost as well-known department store Menarys is set to open in the town.
The family owned retail chain currently operates 17 outlets in Ireland and is set to add Enniskillen to the list with sources saying that the store will be open in time for Christmas shopping.
While the location of the new store has not yet been revealed, the company has been busy recruiting staff for the past month seeking shop assistants, an assistant manager and a manager to open the store.
It has not yet been confirmed how many new jobs will be created by the new store but it is believed that up to ten jobs may be up for grabs.
The department store, which already has outlets nearby in Omagh and Strabane, specialises in women and men’s fashion, cooking and dining, electrical and also home furnishings and accessories.
On their careers website, the company explains that, “Menarys was founded in 1923 and we are a well-established family run business with currently 17 Menarys and Tempest stores.
“Our stores have become focal points in our local communities and we are thrilled to be opening our new store in Enniskillen.”
Welcoming the news of the opening of the retail outlet, local Councillor Debbie Coyle said,
“This is great news for the town in terms of employment opportunities for local people and choice for us shoppers.”
“Menarys will help attract shoppers, not just locally but also the many visitors and tourists we have coming to Enniskillen throughout the year so it will be a great addition to our local economy.”
“Enniskillen is a thriving town, with its purple flag for its night time economy, great selection of small family run businesses as well as the bigger companies.
“It is great to see companies such as Menarys wanting to come to Enniskillen and being part of the only island town on the whole of the island of Ireland.”
