Scotts Bakery were established in 1968 making 2018 our 50th Year in Business. We are a specialist producer of small cakes serving our Customers in Ireland and the UK market. Scotts have grown to become a leading producer in our Category with sales of over £20 million per annum. We are located in Fivemiletown, Co Tyrone, a convenient location for shipment to Belfast, Dublin and the Ferry Ports. Our product range has expanded, still including old favourites such as Original Iced Fairy Cakes which are hand crafted in the traditional way.
New additions include Muffins, Cup Cakes, Butterfly Cakes and various recipes such as Chocolate, Red Velvet, Carrot Cake and Gluten Free. We have a dedicated team of 180 employees which includes Production Operatives, Quality Assurance, Safety & Training, Admin, Distribution, Product Development, Customer Care, Purchasing, Engineering and Management roles. Many of our most responsible positions have been filled through development and promotion from within, ensuring specialist knowledge of our products, processes and Customer’s expectations are understood by our Team.
Ongoing Training is carried out to constantly develop employee skills and assist the achievement of their aspirations. Our commitment to staff development is supported by local colleges; currently we have 9 employees working towards their degree or apprenticeship. Our production plant is the result of ongoing investment in Engineering and Technology to enable high quality and lean manufacturing efficiencies. We design and manufacture specialised equipment, including Ovens, Mixers, Depositors and Automated handling in order to achieve reliability and efficiencies which off the shelf Equipment cannot offer.
Our Quality Systems are approved to the Industry Global Standard of BRC Grade AA+ in order to supply own-brand products for a range of leading Retailers. Our Plant is subject to unannounced Audits by accredited bodies there-fore audit readiness is part of our culture. Each week, millions of individual cakes are planned, produced, packed, dispatched and transported daily to retailer Distribution Depots in Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.
