Fr Brian back in town for new book signing

book

FR BRIAN D’Arcy will be back in Enniskillen this weekend to sign copies of his brand new book, released just in time for Christmas.

The popular priest bid farewell to Fermanagh in August when he departed The Graan to live and work with the Passionist community in Tobar Mhuire Retreat and Conference Centre in Crossgar.

His latest work, “Gold Collection” published by Columba, runs to 220 pages and includes a selection of Fr Brian’s most requested broadcasts on the BBC and his articles in Sunday World over the past decade. The 72-year-old Belnaleck man has penned his hugely popular weekly column for 41 years “and broadcast for RTE and BBC for even longer.”

Fr Brian’s new book is in three sections, the first takes some of his best broadcasts on BBC Radio Ulster and the pick of his contributions to Pause for Thought on BBC Radio 2 with Chris Evans and his great friend the late Terry Wogan. The second has “a multitude of humorous stories and anecdotes which will lift your spirits when life and religion get too serious.

“The last section has many of the most popular Prayers and Reflections which readers and listeners have chosen themselves,” he explained.

He added: “Gold Collection is full of easy to read, meaningful and helpful thoughts, jokes and stories to inspire readers of all ages. The book will appeal to young and old alike. The lukewarm and the religious will find something in every chapter to enjoy and reflect upon.”

Fr Brian says he is “looking forward to meeting family and friends” at his book signing this Saturday, December 9th at 2pm at Eason in Enniskillen.
