Owner sought for abandoned donkey

Donkey

Donkey was found on the Nutfield Road

A FEMALE donkey has been found abandoned in the Tattinbar area, between Brookeborough and Lisnaskea, and is in need of a loving home.

The donkey was found over a week ago, and has been put in a farmer’s field until a new home is found.
The donkey was found in good condition, but no owner has come forward to claim her and she is suspected to be abandoned.
Kerri Fitzpatrick, founder of the Equine Welfare Network has said, “She was found in good condition, she actually looks like she belongs to somebody, and we were thinking that there is a possibility that she escaped from somewhere. A 14 days abandonment notice has been served, and there is less than a week remaining on the notice. The donkey is micro chipped, but it has not shown up on any of the databases. If we cannot find her owner, we will have to look and find a new home.”
“We are hoping to find a owner – that would be the best possible outcome if she has just escaped from somewhere but we are very surprised that if she has just escaped from somewhere that someone has not come forward yet.
The Brookeborough area is one that we have had quite a few abandonments in, due to the forest area, so at this stage it is looking like she was abandoned,” said Kerri.
