Two arrested in Enniskillen over drug imports

Police have confirmed that a man and a woman were arrested in the Enniskillen area earlier today (Thursday) as part of an ongoing investigation into the importation of drugs.
The 47-year-old woman and 26-year-old man were taken to Enniskillen police station for questioning by the District Support Team.
Inspector Glen Latimer said: “A quantity of Class A drugs with a street value of £2,000 and a quantity of prescription drugs were recovered during searches at two properties this morning.
“A large quantity of prescription medication with a street value of £7,000 has also been intercepted in the postal system and seized by police.
“Both detained individuals will be questioned on suspicion of a number of drugs offences including attempted importation of controlled drugs, attempted possession with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.”
The woman has been released on police bail pending further enquiries while the man remains in custody at present.
