Gary returns home to set up office in Enniskillen

Local solicitor, Gary Black has brought his professional career back to his native County Fermanagh having opened GRB Solicitors on Forthill Street, Enniskillen.

A former student of Portora Royal School, Gary graduated with a degree in law (LL.B Honours) from the University of Dundee in 2006, before joining Cooper Wilkinson Solicitors, Enniskillen as an apprentice solicitor in the same year. He attended the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queen’s University, Belfast and qualified as a solicitor in 2008. Upon qualification Gary continued working at Cooper Wilkinson as a solicitor, advising and representing clients across a wide range of areas of law including criminal, litigation, conveyancing, wills, probate, family and employment.

In 2010 Gary left Cooper Wilkinson to take up the appointment as a Public Prosecutor in the Public Prosecution Service for Northern Ireland. During this period, Gary gained extensive experience and specialist skills prosecuting a diverse number of criminal cases in Courts throughout Northern Ireland and successfully completed the Advanced Advocacy course run by
the Law Society of Northern Ireland in conjunction with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

Having developed his skills, Gary took up the post of Senior Public Prosecutor in 2015, which involved working on more serious and complex criminal cases.

Gary lives outside Lisbellaw with his wife, Joanne and their son, Daniel and is actively involved in the local community in his roles as Honorary Treasurer and member of the Select Vestry of Lisbellaw Parish Church and as a member of the Board of Governors of Lisbellaw Primary School.

In returning to practice in County Fermanagh, Gary aims to use his specialist legal and advocacy skills to personally advise and represent the interests of his clients, providing a high quality, practical and cost effective service. Gary explains that people often avoid or delay attending with a solicitor due to a perception that it will be a costly experience. “The early intervention of a solicitor in a case is important and at GRB Solicitors we offer a free initial consultation so that we can listen to our clients and identify their legal requirements before we start acting on their behalf.”

Located at Erne Chambers, 44 Forthill Street, Enniskillen, GRB Solicitors offers a comprehensive range of legal services to individuals and business clients. Appointments can be arranged by telephoning 028 6633 0188.
